Camelia Latin-jazz Band

SUMMARY.

PURPOSE:

• To provide "non-boring" instrumental (= no singing) live Latin music in small and affordable sizes.

GENERAL STYLE:

• Jazz standards are performed with Latin rhythms in a smooth style and at the desired volume. (Please check out "Camelia y su Jazz Latino" below for the Spanish version of this group: Spanish songs with jazz solos.)

SPECIFIC STYLES:

• Boleros, bachatas, cumbias, merengues and salsas, with jazz improvisation.

APPROPRIATE FOR:

• The TRIO would be appropriate for activities requiring live low-volume background music.

• The QUARTET has 2 percussions and would sound a little noisier.

      (For dance occasions, I recommend our "CAMELIA LATIN DANCE BAND": see below.)

INSTRUMENTATION:

• 1. nylon-string guitar,

• 2. keyboard;
• 3. congas or bongos (for the quartet, a güiro [wooden scraper] or güira [metal scraper] is added

ELECTRICITY:

• For areas without electricity, for an additional small fee, our portable lithium power station can provide us with 4 hours of electrical power.
